One of the questions that annoyed me the most as an artist was, What is the meaning behind this piece? There are a lot of times when I paint without purpose or meaning. But now I realize that I hate this question because I cringe thinking about having to explain my thought processes and feelings. I still have trouble with this but I want to be kinder to myself. I don't want to feel as if everything I have to say is stupid. Anyway, there is not much of a story behind this piece other than I was really into Punpun and I really liked God and wanted to paint something similar.

Painted this with the gift my boss gave me for my birthday! The little character is from a Muship P song, "あのよる." I don't entirely know if the translation I found in the comment section of the video is accurate but the lyrics " Mistaking despair for pleasure" really resonated with me. I've been in a situation where I felt nothing but despair but still refused to remove myself from it just because it was what I thought was the closest I'd ever get to experiencing love.

This was a commission requested by my friend for her girlfriend's birthday! Painted this at a friend's birthday party and I was so shocked I was able to finish it by the deadline and get white girl wasted right after working overtime. Painting portraits is really daunting, but what has helped me is telling myself okay. Paint this person as if you are deeply in love with them. There's a lovely feeling you get when you paint someone you care about and the paint starts forming their features.

I think this was an attempt at a self-portrait for my art class. I also have trouble painting myself because of body dysmorphia blah blah blah and stuff like that. I also inherently find it really boring. I don't think it looks like me but I do like how it turned out.

I think this is my favorite thing I've ever painted. What I love about this piece is that I was able to paint it in a really bad state of mind. At this point, I stopped painting for a while and it reminded me that I could pick off where I left off.
